Animals of clay

We broke out the clay today, and made clay animals. When I say we, I mean me. That’s right, I bogarted my daughters craft project. Sure she rolled out some balls for the caterpillar’s body, stuck on the snake’s eyes, and smooshed out petals for the flower, but it was me who formed and assembled the clay figurines. Bad Mommy, bad! It’s a terrible habit but I’m working on it. I do make it up to her, she gets to pick out her own clothes, spread on her own peanut butter, and on occasion I let her drive the car.

While waiting for the clay to dry we watched a couple episodes of Charlie and Lola.

It was a nice afternoon.

Up to Our Elbows

(4.12.06)
Today turned out to be a bright and sunny day, perfect for painting. The painting was indeed a big success. It started out ordinarily enough with paint brushes and the usual painting tools, but then ventured on to finger, hand, and elbow painting.
Some pictures that loosely prove that I have a painting three year old and not a painting purple blob. Oh, the fun that was had!
